A Covid-19 Viral Testing Laboratory was inaugurated today at the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), here.
JPS Gill, Director, Research and nodal officer of the lab said after the ICMR nod to the lab we have started testing of 100 samples daily from last week. It was inaugurated by Cabinet Ministers OP Soni and Bharat Bhushan Ashu. Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU, said the lab would speed up Covid-19 testing and help in timely management of the disease.
Soni said: “We will able to increase the testing capacity to 4,000 per day with the help of the lab along with three other labs, two in Mohali and one in Jalandhar. — TNS
CP’s office closed for public dealing for 3 days
Ludhiana: The office of the Commissioner of Police (CP) has been closed for public dealing for three days from August 11 to 13 for comprehensive sanitisation against the Covid-19. CP Rakesh Agrawal said in an office order that four more police personnel deployed in different branches of the Commissionerate office had tested positive for Covid-19 today. Till now, 220 police employees and officials had fallen prey to the infection of which 30 were posted in various branches working under the Commissioner’s office.
