Ludhiana: The Division No. 3 police have booked two persons for duping a resident of Rs 18 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. The complainant, Karan Kumar of Hargobind Nagar, alleged that he had given Rs 18 lakh to the suspects who had assured him of arranging a visa of Canada for him.

But they neither arranged any visa nor returned his money. Paramjit Singh and Jhanvi of Haryana have been booked under Section 420, 120 B of the IPC, and 24 of the Emigration Act. TNS 

Man booked for property fraud

Ludhiana: The Jamalpur police have booked a man on the charge of committing a property fraud. Subash Chandar of BRS Nagar alleged that he had struck a deal to buy some plot from Rajesh Kumar of Old Madhopuri for Rs 5.46 lakh. He paid Rs 5 lakh in advance to the accused in March and the rest of the amount was to be paid at the time of execution of registration of property. But Rajesh later refused to execute property registration in his name. TNS
