Politics is pious and family affair for the Congress candidate, Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu’s wife Puneeta Sandhu, who has been interacting equally with men and women for seeking votes for her husband in the name of overall development and resolving major issues of residents of the Dakha Assembly segment.

While she promised better facilities and safe drinking water to residents of Latala, Chhapar, Hargobindpura and Ranguwal villages, residents of Dhulkot village were assured of restoration of services at the closed civil dispensary and veterinary hospital.

“For me being member of a family with political background is a matter of duty and responsibility rather than a privilege as an elected functionary owes a lot to his or her voters,” said Puneeta Sandhu, who maintained that she would be glad to share her husband’s social responsibility after he was elected.

Justifying demands raised by Dhulkot residents led by Manjit Singh Sandhu and Tadbir Singh Sandhu, Puneeta said she would bat for establishing a polytechnic college in the region so that youths of the area did not travel long distance for technical education.

Puneeta called upon residents of the region to focus attention on education of their wards in general and daughters in particular as according to her, being educated could enable a person to hibernate adverse time, however, long it may be.

Appreciating gesture shown by Puneeta in spreading awareness among womenfolk during busy days of election campaign, legislators Lakhbir Singh Lakha from Payal and Gurpreet Singh GP said they, too, would utilise her services to educate women of their respective segments.
