The Tibba police have registered a case against four persons, including a woman’s parents, brother and a family acquaintance, following allegations that she was forced into prostitution after marital disputes.

The case was registered after a Zero FIR filed by the woman with the Mumbai police was transferred to Ludhiana for further investigation. Police have invoked Sections 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

She later returned to her husband but went back to her parental home after another marital dispute. The woman alleged that she was again forced into prostitution and that the situation continued for nearly two years.
