The local Special Task Force (STF) has nabbed a woman drug smuggler among two and recovered 500 gm of heroin and Rs 42,000 drug money from their possession. The suspect has been identified as Ravi Kumar (27) and Jyoti Bala (22), both residents of Talwandi Kalan, Salem Tabri.
The STF in-charge, Harbans Singh, said secret information was received about the suspects, who were into the drug trade. The suspects were on their way to supply drugs to their clients at Talwandi village, he added. Accordingly, a police party laid a trap and nabbed the smugglers with drugs, he said.
During questioning Ravi revealed that he was a truck driver and was into the notorious trade from the past two years, he added. Jyoti was house wife and joined the drug network operated by Ravi to become rich in a short span of time, he said.
Both suspects had links with Delhi-based smugglers from whom they procured consignment of drugs, he added.
Police remand of the suspects would be sought from the court for further questioning, he said while adding further probe could bust the entire supply line of drugs.
