Woman dies at Doraha

Deceased Inderjit Kaur

Doraha(OC): A resident of the town died of swine flu on Wednesday evening.

Inderjit Kaur, wife of Charanjit Singh and daughter-in-law of Management Committee member of Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School Rajinder Singh Khalsa, died on Wednesday reportedly due to swine flu. She had been suffering from severe chest congestion for the past some days.

The SMO of Payal, Dr Bhupinder Singh, said they were holding mass campaigns to create awareness on the disease. “Our Health Inspector, along with his team, today conducted a camp at Doraha to educate people regarding swine flu and the necessary precautions to be taken. We are also making door-to-door visits so that the residents maintain hygiene in and around their places. We also ask them not to believe in rumours as every viral infection is not a case of swine flu,” he added.

“All contacts of the patient have been isolated as a preventive measure. The residents, too, are being asked to report any sort of viral fever, which rather than reverting, is aggravating with the passage of time”.
