Ludhiana, June 19

A woman, along with her husband, killed her sister over suspicion of having an illicit relationship with a person, at Green City, Hambran road here yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Anita (24), while the suspects have been identified as Babita and her husband Amit.

The police said Anita was living with the suspects on a rented accommodation. A few days ago, Anita had arguments with the couple over some issue, following which the duo killed her. After committing the crime, the couple locked the house and fled.

When the landlord visited the house on Saturday morning, he found it locked. He peeped inside the house through a window and was shocked to see the body of a woman. He immediately informed the police about the incident.

The police broke open the locks of the door. Ladhowal SHO Inspector Jasvir Singh said the couple killed the girl due to her alleged illicit relationship with a person. Even arguments took place between them over the issue recently.

He said raids were being conducted to nab the couple. A murder case was registered against the suspects yesterday.
