Ludhiana, September 6
A woman, Gauri (37), resident of Rajouri Garden was critically injured when a speeding Activa scooter rammed into her cycle while she was going back home after paying obeisance at Dandi Swami Mandir on September 2.
Bindu, aunt of the deceased, who was also accompanying Gauri on another cycle, said when they had reached the Deep Nagar cut, a speeding scooter, coming from the DMCH side, hit Gauri’s cycle. The injured woman was rushed to the Civil Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries two days later.
The police have identified the owner of Activa scooter as Harpreet Singh of Shimlapuri, who has been booked under various sections of the IPC. — OC
