A married woman was raped in the Norwaala Road area. The 28-year-old victim told the police that when she was alone in the house, the accused arrived there and pushed her on the bed. He put his hand on her mouth to prevent her from raising the alarm and raped her. After hearing her shrieks, the other tenants living nearby rushed to help her. However, the accused escaped.
The woman works at a factory as a daily wage earner and resides in a rented accommodation. She said Deepak, also a daily wage earner, had visited her room to tell her about work available in a factory. When he left, the accused, Babloo Sonkar, a resident of Kailash Nagar, arrived there and asked her who visited the house a little while ago. When she denied answering, he pushed her on the bed and raped her.
Babloo had been her neighbour in the Shivpuri area.
The Jodhewal police have registered a case against the accused under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC. Investigating officer Arshdeep Kaur said the police were looking for the accused.
