Ludhiana, December 9
The Bharat Vikas Parishad organised a state-level event titled “Mahila sammelan” at the Viklang Sahayeta Kendra, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana, on Sunday.
Around 150 women Hoshirarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana participated in the event.
Dr Neelam Sodhi, a city-based gynaecologist said, “The women must focus on proper diet and stay healthy. They should also contribute for welfare of the society.”
Rashi Aggarwal, a councillor, said the women should not consider themselves weak and they should be self-confident.
Principal of DD Jain College Dr Sarita Behl said, “Women must come forward to support the needy. They can feel happy by sharing happiness with others.”
Chief Judicial Magistrate Dr Gurpreet Kaur, who was the chief guest appreciated the work done by the Bharat Vikas Parishad and inspired women to participate in social works.
Suman Gupta of Divyang Sahayeta Kendra infomed that the kendra has provide artificial limbs, hearing aids, wheelchairs and tricycles among others to the needy.
ACP Rupinder Saran talked about the women rights. She encouraged women to do their work with confidence and without any hesitation.
