Youth attacked with swords, sticks behind Ludhiana court complex after hearing

A youth was brutally attacked behind the Ludhiana court complex on Wednesday after attending a court hearing. The assailants also vandalised the victim’s car. Six or seven attackers carrying swords, sharp weapons, and heavy sticks targeted the youth.
According to reports, the youth had an old enmity with the group. As he headed towards his car after the hearing, they confronted him, and a heated argument escalated into a fight. The youth suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Sources said the victim’s house in Haibowal was allegedly attacked by the same assailants a few days ago. Eyewitness Asha Rani, whose house is behind the court complex, saw the youth running for shelter with the attackers chasing him.
Senior police officials investigated the incident. ACP Guriqbal Singh and SHO Model Town Inspector Jaswinder Singh declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation. Police recovered CCTV footage and are examining it. Some suspects have been rounded up, sources said.
