Youth booked for sexually harassing 42-yr-old woman

A 24-year-old youth has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a 42-year-old married woman at Beant Colony of Jamalpur, Ludhiana.

The accused has been identified as Pamma of Beant Colony. In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused was her neighbour and used to follow her for more than past one year. She alleged that the accused was harassing her and her family members too.

The woman had earlier filed a complaint against the accused for allegedly harassing her at the Jamalpur Police station in September 2018, but both parties had reached to compromise. The accused had later started making obscene gestures, the woman alleged in her fresh complaint.

A case under Section 354-D (stalking), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC against the accused at the Jamalpur police station on Sunday. ASI Baldev Singh said they had initiated investigation into the matter and the accused would be arrested soon.
