Ludhiana, September 27

A 20-year-old youth, Nakul, who resided near the Division 3 police station, had a scuffle with some boys outside a dhaba near Samrala Chowk last night. The youths pelted each other with bricks and stones.

According to information, Nakul, along with his brother Karan, had gone to have dinner at a dhaba where a bike rammed into them. A scuffle ensued between them.

Nakul managed to escape with his brother from the spot on their motorcycle. On the way to home, their bike was hit by a truck. Meanwhile, the other persons with whom Nakul had a scuffle outside the dhaba also reached there and they started thrashing him. Later, Nakul was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Nakul’s family today alleged that he did not die in accident with a truck rather he succumbed to injuries inflicted by the persons who scuffled with him outside the dhabha.

The police said preliminary investigation suggested that Nakul died in the accident. If, during further investigation, attack comes out to be the cause of his death, then action will be taken accordingly.
