Youth's body recovered from canal in Mullanpur Dakha

Ludhiana, June 28

The body of a youth aged between 18 and 20 years was recovered from a canal in Mullanpur Dakha here yesterday. The boy was reportedly murdered and his body was thrown into the canal.

Victim’s head had sharp injuries: Cop

Inspector Ajitpal Singh, Dakha SHO, said the victim’s head had sharp injuries. He was reportedly attacked with a sharp weapon on his head. It seems that the body has been dumped into the canal one day ago.

After getting information, the Dakha police reached the spot and fished out the body from the canal.

Dakha Station House Officer Inspector Ajitpal Singh said Bachitar Singh of Changan village noticed a body floating in the canal. He immediately informed the police about the incident.

“The victim’s head had sharp injuries. He was reportedly attacked with a sharp weapon on his head. It seems that the body has been dumped into the canal a day ago. All police stations of Jagraon, Ludhiana and Khanna have been informed about the recovery of a body from the canal. Nearby residents are also being asked to identify the body,” said SHO Singh.

Singh said so far a murder case had been registered against unknown persons and further probe was on to get clue about the killers.
