Ludhiana, February 20
The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has been declared open defecation free plus (ODF +), said MC Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain. He said the MC was earlier declared open defecation free (ODF) while now, it had been awarded the plus status.
He said a third party inspection was done by a firm QCI. The report states that 22 toilets were inspected during the survey.
Notably, Municipal Commissioner Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar had given directions to the staff concerned to take measures for getting the ODF plus status for the city. “Because of hard efforts made by Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana, the MC is able to get the ODF plus status”, said Jain. There are 18 community toilets and 40 public toilets in the city. Besides, the total number of best toilets with various facilities is 11, said Jain.
