Mobile phone recovered from jail

Patiala, February 22

The police have registered a case after the recovery of a mobile phone from a barrack of the Patiala Central Jail. Officials said they recovered a touch screen mobile phone without SIM card and battery wrapped in a polythene bag lying abandoned in one of the barracks on the jail premises.

Jail officials said they recovered the phone during a surprise check on Friday.

The police have registered a case on the complaint of the Assistant Jail Superintendent. The police said they had booked unidentified persons under Section 52-A of the Prisons Act and investigations into the case were on.
