New Delhi: Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Friday likened the Modi government to a disunited cricket team, asking the Indian diaspora in Dubai if a group of players who don’t speak to one another ever deliver a win.

“Can a cricket team where the batsmen don’t speak to the bowlers, where the bowlers don’t speak to the wicket-keeper ever win? Such a team can never win. That’s the problem with the government of the day. They are dividing India in the name of religions, castes, creeds and an India that’s divided can never be strong and can never win,” a combative Rahul told a gathering of non-resident Indians at a packed cricket stadium in Dubai this evening. He will address overseas Indians in Abu Dhabi tomorrow. — TNS
