3 militants shot in Baramulla encounter

Srinagar, July 12

Three militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir early Sunday morning, the police said. The Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at midnight in Reban area of Sopore following a tip-off, a police official said.

The search operation led to the encounter at about 4 am when the hiding militants opened fire at the security personnel. All three were killed in the retaliatory fire, the official said. Arms and ammunition were found at the site of the encounter. PTI
