Gurugram, October 23

Battling for life for 10 days after being shot at by his father’s PSO, Additional District and Sessions Judge Krishan Kant’s 18-year-old son Dhruv Garg succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Dhruv had gone shopping with his mother Ritu (38) on October 13 evening when Personal Security Officer Mahipal, who accompanied them, had a tiff with them and shot the duo. While Ritu died within hours, Dhruv continued to be on life-support system all this while, not gaining conscious even once.

Determined to keep alive his memory, the family donated his liver and kidneys even before the body was sent for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy confirmed three bullet wounds with two in the head being the fatal ones.

The last rites would be performed at his native place in Hisar tomorrow. The trial in the case is expected to be put on fast track.  — TNS
