In a horrifying re-run of the Burari incident, bodies of six members of a family were found in CDM Apartment near Khazanchi Talab in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district. The members of the debt-stricken family are reportedly said to have committed suicide.
Among the dead were two kids, two males and two female members of the family.
The incident comes weeks after the case of mass suicide in north Delhi's Burari that grabbed the nation's attention.
The family has also left three suicide notes. According to one note, the head of the family, Naresh Maheshwari, was fed-up with diseases, debt, closure of shop, forcing them to take the extreme step.
In spite of the recovery of the notes, police are probing the case from all angles considering it might have been the case of murder too. "Prima facie, the incident becomes a case of suicide but we would investigate it from all angles," said deputy superintendent of police Chandan Vats.
"Three suicide notes have been recovered from the spot. A team of forensic science laboratory (FSL) will collect scientific evidences. Whether it is mass suicide or they were killed could only be revealed after a thorough investigation," added the DSP.
