Capt Amarinder to undergo procedure for kidney stone removal on Monday

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was on Sunday admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh, where he will operated upon for kidney stones on Monday.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was on Sunday admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh, where he will operated upon for kidney stones on Monday.

In a tweet, the CM said "a simple laser procedure will be performed for removal of kidney stone... and shall be returning to work by Tuesday".

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said yesterday Capt Amarinder visited the PGI for general check-up and tests before being admitted for the surgery. He is reportedly on medication ahead of the surgery.

Without giving further details,  a close confidant of the Chief Minister said his since all his parametres were under control, he would be operated upon tomorrow. He was admitted to a private ward at the hospital.

The 77-year-old Chief Minister was admitted for one day to PGI last week after he was suffering from viral infection and had high blood pressure. It was then he was diagnosed for the kidney stones.
