Child dies after woman throws him from building in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 3

Upset at her husband giving extra attention to his nephew, a woman threw the toddler from the building killing him instantly. The incident took place at Kumarwadi Colony in Edi Bazar of the city.

The woman, identified as Ayesha Banu, has been arrested on charges of killing the child, police said.

She reportedly confessed to throwing 3-year-old Mohammed Naomaan from the building.

The family of the deceased said Ayesha murdered Naomaan, who was the son of her brother-in-law, out of jealousy as she was without a child. Ayesha was married around 18 months ago but could not conceive.

Police said Ayesha was uncomfortable with her husband being affectionate towards the child.

A case was registered at Bhavani Nagar police station. A police officer said they were investigating the matter.
