New Delhi, December 4

The Congress on Saturday launched a social media campaign to secure compensation for the families of people who died of Covid-19.

Days after Rahul Gandhi demanded compensation of Rs 4 lakh each for the kin of the deceased, the party leaders launched a Twitter movement “Speak up for Covid Nyay”.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera questioned the government for underreporting Covid deaths and said if the government did not have the data, the country could provide it. “We have the data. We can provide it,” he said. — TNS

Over 1 cr shots in a day

India on Saturday administered over one crore doses, with the cumulative coverage exceeding 127 crore since the start of the inoculation drive on January 16. This is the sixth time India has delivered more than 1 crore shots in a day.
