New Delhi, November 24
The country’s largest paramilitary force CRPF has decided to enhance the ex gratia given to the families of troops martyred in action or those who die on duty due to other reasons, officials said today.
As per the new rules, the families of troops killed in combat will now get Rs 35 lakh as ex gratia. The amount is Rs 13.5 lakh more than what they are being given till now.
Similarly, the families of troops who die due to any other reason, including accident, suicide or illness etc., while in service will be given Rs 25 lakh, instead of Rs 16.5 lakh earlier.
The decision was taken during the annual governing body meeting of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) held in September, a senior official said. — TNS
