New Delhi, February 19

Rejecting Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan statement seeking actionable intelligence and evidence of the country’s involvement in the Pulwama terror attack, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said evidence is already present in that country.

Responding to questions on the Pakistani PM, Jaitley said the statement was ‘’diversionary’’ at a time when there has been universal condemnation and global community endorsed India’s stand in a major way.

He said three things were obvious from Pakistan PM’s statement: “One there was not even a pretence of an outright condemnation; let alone sympathy for bereaved families, not even a lip sympathy for them; and a very shallow logic [of] provide us [with] actionable intelligence, as if the origin of the crime is not know...when the perpetrators of the crime have admitted... and are located in the country of which Mr Khan is the PM’’.

Two terrorists who were liquidated by the country’s security forces on Monday in the post-Pulwama action were Pakistanis, so where is the need for actionable intelligence or remote intelligence for this purpose when evidence was there in Pakistan’s home.

In any case, he said, India knows what Pakistan did after the country provided both evidence and intelligence after the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack.
