Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal, who was the government’s spokesperson at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the beginning, on Friday tested positive for the virus.
A 1996-batch IAS from Andhra Pradesh cadre, 48-year-old Agarwal today took to Twitter to say, “Dear All,Just to inform that I have tested positive for Covid 19 and initiating home isolation as per guidelines. Requesting all my friends, colleagues for self monitoring. Contact tracing will be done by Health Team. Hoping to see everyone soon.”

Health Ministry said it would isolate and test everyone Agarwal met in recent days.
