NEW DELHI, MAY 15
India was among the signatories to the ‘Christchurch Call to Action’, a pact between largely liberal democracies and most global social media companies to make Internet immune to abuse by terrorists and violent extremists.
The action plan to keep extremist content away from the Internet was announced in Paris by French President Emmanuel Macron and New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardren.
India, Indonesia, Jordan and Japan were the Asian countries in the 16-nation pact with tech firms that promised to review algorithms and processes amplifying or attracting users to extremist violent content. — TNS
