Two robots will start the work of distribution of drugs and necessary information pertaining to coronavirus patients in isolation wards at SMS hospital in Jaipur from Thursday.

“A volunteer, Bhuvnesh, who has been producing robots indigenously at his Jodhpur factory has extended services without any charge to the hospital so that nursing staff can be saved from any possible viral infection,” Dr D S Meena, hospital superintendent, told The Tribune here on Wednesday.

A trial was performed today and it worked as per the requirement. The robot is battery operated and has a lifespan of four to five years, Dr Meena said.

If required, more robots would be put on work and the volunteer is ready to extend his services to the cause of coronavirus patients, he claimed.
