JAIPUR: Diya Kumari of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family and her husband Narendra Singh have decided to end marriage after 21 years. The only daughter of (late) Bhawani Singh and Padmani Devi, Kumari fell in love with Singh, who was from a modest family, and married him in 1997 amid a row because the two belonged to the same ‘gotra’. She entered politics in 2013 and won Assembly election as a BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur. PTI

Record 1,007 flight movements at Mumbai  

Mumbai: The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Saturday handled a record 1,007 aircraft movements in a day, bettering its record of 1,003 set in June. The feat was achieved in the wake of the pre-wedding bash of Isha Ambani, daughter of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, in Udaipur. A host of politicians, corporate honchos and Bollywood stars flew in private jets to attend the celebrations. Isha is set to marry Piramal scion Anand Piramal on Wednesday in Mumbai. PTI

India starts visa on arrival for South Koreans

New Delhi: India has started granting visa on arrival to South Korean nationals. Japanese nationals have been getting the privilege since 2016. Though visa-on-arrival facility was earlier offered to citizens of 12 countries — Cambodia, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Luxembourg, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and South Korea — it was discontinued in 2014 after the launch of e-Tourist Visa scheme, which now covers 166 countries. Foreign nationals can obtain online visa within 72 hours for travel related to tourism, business, health, medical and conference purposes. PTI
