Former RLD leader Anuradha Chaudhary and ex-AAP member Ezaz Amar Khan today joined the BJP in the present of state unit chief Satish Upadhyay and Union Minister Harsh Vardhan ahead of Delhi Assembly election.
“I am impressed with the working style and policies of our PM, especially the ‘Beti Bachao’ campaign and ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’.” Chaudhary said.
She also stated difference with RLD’s ideology as one of the main reasons behind leaving the party. “I had an ideological difference with RLD chief Ajit Singh so I left his party,” she said.
Chaudhary has earlier served twice as a Cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh Government and was also national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party, while Khan is connected with Indian Union Muslim League and a former AAP member.
Harsh Vardhan said Chaudhary would contribute towards strengthening BJP. “We welcome them to the party and I think their presence will further boost our campaign in Delhi and Khan’s presence also validates the ideology of the party towards people,” he said.
“With Chaudhary joining the BJP, the party will strengthen its position in Delhi rural areas and Aizad Qamar Khan will help make the party strong in Okhla and unauthorised colonies of Badarpur,” said Upadhayay.
