The LJP, going solo in the Bihar Assembly polls, has in its vision document promised a ‘grand’ Sita temple at Sitamarhi. “Lord Ram is incomplete without Goddess Sita and a temple for her will be built at Sitamarhi,” said party president Chirag Paswan.
The LJP has also promised a six-lane corridor between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi to promote religious tourism.
Significantly, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had in April announced a promenade around the old Sita temple at Purana Dham at the request of BJP leaders. Though it is yet to be seen if Chirag’s ‘grand Sita temple’ pitch will fetch him votes, it is certainly a cause for concern for Nitish, given that the LJP has been only targeting the JD(U).
Chirag, while canvassing in Rohtas district today, claimed the next Bihar government would be “Nitishmukt”.
