As former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee continues to remain in a critical condition, the outpouring of prayers for his better health from across the country and visits to the AIIMS where he is being treated by leaders from across the political spectrum show his popularity.

Not many in the BJP or in the contemporary political arena can boast of such love and support from their rivals and those with diverse ideologies.

Meanwhile, following the grim health statement issued by AIIMS doctors, NDA leaders and Chief Ministers are  rushing to be by his side.

People have also been visiting his residence.

Among those who visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday morning included senior BJP leaders and union ministers, including party chief Amit Shah.

The BJP, which suspended all its programmes, is likely to postpone the National Executive later this week.

Vajpayee was put on life support after his condition deteriorated drastically on Wednesday.

Doctors treating the 93-year-old BJP stalwart remained tight-lipped about his condition.
