SpiceJet on Thursday said a concerted misinformation campaign was being run against the airline that some pilots reported sick today.

“This information is wrong, baseless and is strongly denied. There is no unusual sick reporting today and all pilots have reported for duty. All our flights have departed as per schedule,” SpiceJet said in tweets. “We urge everyone not to be misled by fake news and inadvertently become a party to the misinformation campaign being spread by people with vested interests to damage our reputation and create hindrances to an essential service,” the airline tweeted. Social media was abuzz with rumousr yesterday that several SpiceJet pilots would report sick on Thursday as a protest against salary issues.
