Leader of Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday said all opposition parties had agreed in their meeting on Monday to work together to bring a no-confidence motion against the government.

“We will move the motion collectively to corner the government on a range of failures,” The Tribune on Monday had reported that the Opposition was mulling backing a no-confidence meeting of the TDP or bringing another on a range of issues.

The Congress has drafted a list of several issues to bring in the motion. These include lynching, unemployment, farm distress, lack of women’s safety, tampering with EVMs, situation in J&K and the failure of the government on foreign policy front.

“On Monday, we also discussed the need to do away with EVMs. We have no confidence left in the polling process. We must revert to the old system of ballot,” Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said.

The announcement by Kharge lays grounds for major confrontation in the upcoming session which is set to see a storm.

The Congress also alleged that the government was compromising the autonomy of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV.
