Congress president Rahul Gandhi has claimed victory in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, while saying that it will be very difficult for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election against a resurgent Congress and combined opposition.

Gandhi claimed a victory in MP too, even as the leads in the state stand at an equal 111, as per EC website tally.

Addressing the media after the poll results, Gandhi said, "PM Modi taught me what not to do He taught me that arrogance is fatal for a politician."

"I learnt a lot from the 2014 loss. Also, I feel sorry for the PM who lost a great opportunity to transform India," the Congress president.

"We will work on a new vision for the 21st century India and will coordinate with the opposition to ensure jobs for youth, solutions for farm distress, rooting out of corruption and rebuilding of the economy the PM has destroyed," said Gandhi.
