Shiv Sena MPs now in Oppn benches

NEW DELHI:The Rajya Sabha witnessed a new seating arrangement for Members among opposition benches with the start of the winter session of Parliament on Monday.

New Delhi, November 18

The Rajya Sabha witnessed a new seating arrangement for Members among opposition benches with the start of the winter session of Parliament on Monday.

This is culmination of the difference between Shiv Sena with its three-decade-old ally BJP of sharing the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra on rotational basis. In the midst of cold war and verbal jousts, Shiv Sena stepped up the gas with its lone Minister Arvind Sawant resigning from the Union Council of Minister last Monday. On account of it being part of NDA block seating arrangement for its Members was on the side of Treasury benches. Now, it is on Opposition side.

Shiv Sena is in parleys with NCP and Congress to break to form a non-BJP government in Maharashtra. The two had stipulated that it must tank its ties with the BJP-led NDA for associating them in formation of a government. — TNS
