The reports of senior editor Arnab Goswami quitting as TimesNow Editor-in-Chief on Tuesday invoked hilarious reactions on the social media, especially Twitter.

Arnab Goswami was among top trends on the micro-blogging site with 28,600 tweets till 9 pm on Tuesday. Arnab anchors TimesNow’s popular show ‘The Newshour’.  

Twitter exploded with hilarious memes and tweets as soon as the unconfirmed reports of his resignation started making the rounds.

Among those who reacted to the reports of Arnab’s resignation were BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy and actor Anupam Kher.

Swamy tweeted: “1/11/16, 18:06:57: Gopikrishnan J: Arnab Goswami resigns from Times Now, says could start another venture.”

“Dear Arnab Goswami. This is called Stardom. Whole country is talking about you. Because you took country's side & made a DIFFERENCE. JaiHo,” Kher said.
