Two children were killed in a fire at Shaheen Bagh Abul Fazal Enclave building in south-east Delhi on Tuesday.
The police control room received a phone call regarding the fire in the Enclave’s first floor. The two children were injured and were shifted to the Holi Family Hospital, said DCP Chinmoy Biswal.
The children succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Six fire tenders, four ambulances and a vehicle of District Disaster Management Authority reached the spot.
The building’s first floor was completely burnt but the fire tenders managed to control the fire on the second floor and rescued people living on the second and third floors, said a Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official.
It seemed to be a case of short-circuit, the DFS official said.
