Union Cabinet for President rule in Puducherry

New Delhi, February 24

Puducherry is set to see a brief spell of President’s rule ahead of the Assembly elections in April-May this year. The Union Cabinet approved a recommendation in this regard today. Chief Minister V Narayanasamy had resigned on February 22 after failing to win the “trust vote” in the Assembly. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said no other political party had come forward to form a government. — TNS
