Lucknow, February 22

A government education officer posted in Muzaffarnagar has been suspended for allegedly posting a controversial message on the social media about the Pulwama terror attack.

Posting a message on the WhatsApp group of the PES Association, basic shiksha adhikari Dinesh Kumar Yadav had written “Jawanon par attack karaya gaya hai... hua nahi hai”.

Among those who had recommended action against him was Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Shakti Dal national general secretary Arun Pratap Singh, who also sought a sedition case against Yadav.

Muzaffarnagar Additional District Magistrate Amit Kumar said the BSA was suspended on the recommendation of district authorities, including the local MLA. After the February 14 attack, the UP Police have lodged over a dozen cases of sedition against youths for their reported “anti national” posts on the social media.
