PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar today held a meeting with Mayor Jagdish Raja, councillors and MLAs over the ongoing protest by safai karamcharis. As per information, Jakhar said a policy would be formulated over the issue after talking to the higher authorities.

As per sources present in the meeting, Jakhar asked the councillors and MLAs on what could be the possible solution to resolve the issue, to which the Mayor said if the government gives a go-ahead, the safai karamcharis would be hired on a regular basis.

“Our prime importance is that the work should not get affected,” the Mayor said.

Jakhar asked if safai karamcharis continue to hold strike, would the House consider putting hold the agenda to recruit 160 sewermen that has been passed, to which everyone including councillors said it won’t be possible as the work would get affected in the city and there was a dire need of sewermen in the city.
