One killed, seven hurt as mini-truck, SUV collide

Garhshankar, February 19

A person was killed and seven others were injured in a collision between a mini-truck (Tata Ace) and an SUV near Satnore village on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road.

The deceased was travelling in the mini-truck.

The mini-truck was going from Satnore village towards Garhashankar and the SUV was going to Mahilpur from the Garhashankar side. The collision was so tremendous that both vehicles turned in the reverse directions.

Pragat Singh, who was standing on the rear side of the mini-truck, got stuck between the two vehicles due to which he died on the spot.

Seven persons, including three women and a driver, who were travelling in the SUV, and two sons of the deceased were injured. The injured were sent to the Civil Hospital, Garhshankar. The police are investigating the matter.
