With a mission to empower youth to take ownership of creating a sustainable future for themselves, Dalmia Cement and the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) have jointly launched a programme of engagement – the ‘Climate Jamboree’.



With a mission to empower youth to take ownership of creating a sustainable future for themselves, Dalmia Cement and the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) have jointly launched a programme of engagement – the ‘Climate Jamboree’. The programme aims to help youth engaged in different streams of study, and aspiring for diverse careers, to recognize both the common as well as unique opportunities they have to influence more desirable outcomes.

Open to youth across the country and beyond, most of the lead-up events would be undertaken on an online mode but the Finale, scheduled between November 1-3, 2018 at the Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, aims to engage well over10,000 youth and other relevant stakeholders to ideate, learn, innovate and collaborate on sustainability solutions. 

The programme has  activities designed for students/young professionals of management, law, urban studies, natural and social sciences, media and communications, among many others. — TNS

Electrical skills centre at PUSA ITI

Taking intiative to enhance employability by imparting vocational training to the youth Havells inaugurated a state-of-the-art Electrical Skill Center in PUSA ITI earlier this week to provide industrial training to the youth and make them job ready. Under this partnership, Havells will impart trade specific training as many as 80 students on various aspects of repair and troubleshooting for industrial and consumer electrical products such as industrial switchgears, motors, water heaters, fans, domestic appliances etc. Havells will also upgrade the lab of the electrical skill centre with the latest testing equipment to enable the students to get a hands on experience and be industry ready. The company will also undertake the maintenance of the lab for five years and the students will be trained by the faculty of PUSA only.
