This was Chandigarh-based Vibrant Networking Forum in collaboration with Shoolini University organised a leadership workshop last week. Experts from diverse backgrounds provided an insight into their millennial journey as leaders.

Experts from diverse backgrounds provided an insight into their millennial journey as leaders. Speaking on the occasion Atul Khosla, Pro-Vice Chancellor & Founder, Shoolini University highlighted the importance of leadership quailities in the current competitive world. “We want to inculcate leadership qualities in students from smaller towns. For me leadership is not just about going in  Class, leadership is for practicing and  learning”, he added.  He also stressed on the need to effectively utilise the demographic dividend by inculcating right leadership qualities. “If we miss to fully utilise the capabilities of youth now, then such an opportunity will not be there for India for the next 100 years. Our institutes have to help students in problem solving, communication, team skills”, he said. 

Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana, Jyoti Kamal, Senior Editor at TV 18 Broadcast, Vivek Atray, IAS (Retd.), Bobby Dsouza (Director of Empower India Academia), Sandeep Nagpal (Leadership Trainer) and Vinish Kathuria (Social Entrepreneur) were among the speakers at the conclave.


82 awarded KC Mahindra scholarships

As many as 82 students from different streams have qualified for the grant of K. C. Mahindra Scholarships for PG studies abroad. More than 1,000 applications were received for the scholarship that saw a 45 per cent increase in the number of awardeed and an increase in the value of the scholarships to Rs 2.92 crore. The shortlisted candidates included 23 students who had graduated from the IITs, and the rest were from other premier educational institutes,  including BITS Pilani, SRCC, the National Law Schools, Symbiosis, St. Xaviers, Sir JJ College of Architecture and NID. The candidates had secured admission to the top-ranking universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, Pennsylvania, Oxford, LSE & Cambridge. The scholars will be pursuing their post-graduation in subjects ranging from Computer Science, Engineering, MBA, Law, Public Policy and Economics.
