The Patiala Police have registered a number of cases against people for flouting the curfew imposed in the district.
The police said they had registered a case against Jaswinder Singh and Arvinder Singh of Ghanaur, who were found in possession of 41 bottles of illicit liquor. They said the residents of panchayat of Bhatmajra village had stopped the commuters after which the illicit liquor was recovered from them. The police registered a case against the accused under Sections 188 of the IPC and Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act.
The police of Kheri Gandian police station, registered a case against an unidentified person after they received information that he was selling liquor from the liquor shop illegally while curfew was imposed. The police party said the unidentified person managed to flee
the spot.
The Samana police also registered a case against a Vinod Kumar of Pratap colony in Samana after he was found selling commodities from his shop
illegally.
The police registered a case against a Daljit Singh, resident of Nabha for violating curfew imposition as he was found roaming outside his house on a two-wheeler. They have registered similar cases against Suresh Kumar of Sangrur, Karnail Singh of village Salempur, Jagtar Singh and Gurpreet Singh of village Bibipur, Mansa Ram, Shammi Kumar and Jassi, of Patiala, Kewal Krishan, Anand Kumar, Shiv Shankar Yadav and Ravi Kumar of Patiala, Keshav Ram, Jaidev Singh, Suraj, Basant Kumar and Jaspal Singh all residents near Civil lines police station in Patiala.
The police have registered cases against the accused under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC.
Seven nabbed in Kharar
The police have arrested seven persons for violating curfew orders today. The cops impounded seven vehicles as well.
Kharar (City) Station House Officer Bhagwant Singh said that four FIRs have been registered against seven persons under Section 188 of the IPC. He said seven vehicles have been impounded.
