110 units collected at blood donation camp

Baba Moti Ram Mehra Blood Donation Society, Fatehgarh Sahib, organised a blood donation camp on the eve of ‘Sankranti’ at the historical Gurdwara of Fatehgarh Sahib today. Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Minister for Information and Public Relations, Punjab Government, inaugurated the camp.

Addressing the gathering, he urged all NGOs to come forward and donate blood as every drop saved precious human life. He said there was an acute gap between the need and supply of blood, as it could not be manufactured in factories but can only be collected through donations. He said every healthy person should donate blood as it did not have any adverse affect on health. Appreciating the efforts of Baba Moti Ram Mehra Blood Donation Society, he said service to mankind was service to God. He said on this auspicious day one must vow to never back down from serving humanity.

More than 110 units of blood were collected by the team of doctors, led by Dr Ritesh Gulati. On the occasion, society members, led by former president of municipal council Sirhind Sher Singh honoured the minister. Secretary of the society also addressed the gathering.
