The Patiala police have registered a case against two youngsters after the parents of 20-year-old Arsh claimed that the two had allegedly injected their son with some drug due to which he overdosed and died. The police have registered a case under Sections 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for causing disappearance of evidence of offence and Section 105 of the BNS for culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the two accused at the Anaj Mandi police station.

According to complainant Gurdial Singh, his son was learning tailoring in the Tripuri area and left the house on September 15, but did not return home that night. “The next day we received information that my son was lying unconscious near Alipur village. We later came to know that the two accused Varun and Ankur of Ekta Nagar were friends with Arsh and had forcibly injected my son with some intoxicant which led to his death. Later they threw him near Alipur village and fled,” he alleged. The police said they had received the complaint and were investigating the matter.
