3 held for robbing finance firm staffer

Fatehgarh Sahib, March 1

The police have arrested three persons — Satnam Singh, from Mallanwala village, Devinder Singh, alias Golu, of Kutbewala village and Malkit Singh, alias Kitu, of Khooh Mehr Singh village — for ‘looting’ Rs 8.51 lakh from an employee of a finance company. The police have recovered Rs 6 lakh and a baseball bat, a mobile phone and sharp weapons used in the crime. Rakesh Yadav, SP (Investigation), said the victim, Gautam Kumar of Nangla village, used to work with a finance company, L&T, and collected cash from the field officers. The cop said on February 10, when Gautam was going home, three persons attacked him and fled with his bag containing Rs 8.51 lakh. The suspects have been sent to four-day police remand.
