52-year-old man shot dead in Patiala

A 52-year-old man was shot dead at an office near the old bus stand area of the city late last night. The victim has been identified as Mahinder Singh, a resident of Anand Nagar.

The incident took place around 11 pm when both the accused and the victim were reportedly consuming liquor.

According to the police, a heated argument between  Mahinder and the accused led to the killing.

As per the investigating officer, three shots were fired by the accused from what appears to be a licensed weapon.

Prima facie, a monetary dispute is suspected to be  be the reason behind the killing.

After the killing, the accused fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the body has been taken to Rajindra Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police registered a murder case and launched a man hunt to nab the accused.
