Six drug dealers’ houses face demolition in Fatehgarh Sahib district

The “War against drugs” initiated by the police has started bringing success along with wide spread appreciation by the public. It is probably for the first time that the police campaign against drugs has brought accolades from the people at large particularly when house of a woman drug dealer at Mandi Gobindgarh was bulldozed by the police yesterday. People continued to raise slogans while praising the police action.

Elated district police officials said six more houses of drug peddlers in the district had been identified, and action would be taken against them soon. Shubham Aggarwal, SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib, said the police were committed to eradicate the menace of drugs to make the historical Fatehgarh Sahib district drug free. He said the police action had not only boosted morale of the force, but also enthused people to stay away from drugs.

He said, “The police are serious about rooting out this menace. The woman drug dealer, whose house was demolished, said she was not the only one who indulged in the illegal trade. Others in the street did the same and their houses should be demolished too.” The SSP issued a stern warning to drug dealers to either stop their illegal trade, or face the music.
